Matthew Hayward, 41, of Vero Beach was driving an SUV eastbound on the Osceola Parkway at 3:46 p.m. Saturday afternoon when he ran a red light and struck Stephen Quill, 44, of Kissimmee, who was traveling through the intersection of Seralago Boulevard on his motorcycle. Quill was rushed to the Orlando Regional Medical Center in critical condition. Hayward was not injured.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the investigation into the wreck is ongoing. Further information as not released.
After receiving tips about suspicious activity at a residence located at 2331 Smith St. in Kissimmee, the Kissimmee Police Department investigated the home and conducted several undercover drug purchases, which resulted in two people being arrested and $7,000 in cash, along with marijuana, cocaine, Ecstasy pills and drug paraphernalia being seized. A man suffered life-threatening injuries Wednesday afternoon following a shooting in Kissimmee.
Officers with the Kissimmee Police Department said they arrived at 914 Woodside Circle sometime around 5:30 p.m. after receiving a call of a shooting.
They found a man at the site with a gunshot wound. The victim, whose name has not been released, was transported to Osceola Regional Hospital.
Witnesses told the police they heard the shots, but did not see the shooter. An agency K-9 dog could not locate the suspect. Police said the victim did not reside at the apartment complex where the incident occurred.
