April 23, 2008 – Ricky Arnold Norris, a 36-year-old Kissimmee man was killed early Sunday morning when he crashed into a concrete barrier wall, was ejected from his motorcycle and fell from an overpass onto the northbound shoulder of Florida’s Turnpike, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The incident happened at about 2:10 a.m., as Norris was headed eastbound on Town Center Boulevard in the Hunter’s Creek area of Orange County. He lost control of his 2007 Honda motorcycle and hit the north side concrete barrier wall. Norris was near the Turnpike overpass and he was thrown from his motorcycle after hitting the concrete wall. He then fell about 24 feet from the overpass and landed on the shoulder of the Turnpike.
The FHP said that Norris was wearing a helmet and that he was traveling “at a high rate of speed.” It is not yet known if alcohol played a role in the crash.
