New Post Office for Poinciana

Poinciana may finally get the new post office first promised by the federal government in 2005. Tony Iorio, vice president of development for Avatar Properties, said he just got confirmation from the U.S. Postal Service that they now have property in the community to build on. He was referring to land behind the Public promenade off Pleasant Hill Road in Poinciana. Plans are to build a 7,000- to 8,000-square-foot building there as the Postal Service has just closed on the property. According to him, they are just a few days away from groundbreaking.
Last November, the U.S. Postal Service made it official that they would finally construct a full-service post office in Poinciana this year. A spokesman declared that funding was already in place and that the building would be ready for a grand opening in the fall of this year.
