Students take part in Talent Competition

Students recently showed off their talents at the Pollo Tropical restaurant, 1040 Cypress Parkway in Poinciana. They displayed belly-dancing moves, martial-arts techniques, musical abilities and comedy routines to help raise funds for the Education Foundation of Osceola County. The talent competition was open to students 12 to 20 years old and featured more than 20 acts from middle and high schools.
Mysterious, a dance group who performed a self-choreographed hip-hop routine won first place. They received $500 to be used toward college expenses. Second place went to another dance team, Studio 5-6-7-8, and Stephanie Martinez, a musician and vocalist took third place. Pollo Tropical donated 10 percent of sales during the show to the foundation.
